WXCU: Radio Free Capital

WXCU is Capital University's student-run radio station.

We broadcast 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 52 weeks per year.

We launched WXCURadio.com in Spring 2007, complete with a high-quality quicktime web stream that originates from Capital's immense server complex.

Our DJs come from a variety of departments and majors on campus, including Radio-Television, Nursing, English Literature, Public Relations, and Music Technology, just to name a few.

The station is led by a student management team which makes all decisions regarding our music and our schedules.

We use RCS Master Control scheduling and on-air software to program the station, a software suite currently in use in over 62 countries around the world. Sony Vegas is our main tool for production tasks.

We also host multiple concerts each academic year using our own P.A. equipment, and offer promotional support to student organizations and events on the Capital Main Campus.

Finally, we are deeply committed to local music and independent artists in our regular program schedule. Experienced DJs are able to bring their own programming ideas to our schedule weekday evenings and all weekends, offering specialty shows ranging from Funk to Christian Metal and everything in between.
